Source selection

Priority goes to diagnostic guidance, government health services, peer-reviewed research and established professional organizations. Commercial treatment claims, anonymous posts and personal stories are not treated as proof.

Sources are linked on the page where they matter so readers can inspect them directly.

Language and clinical restraint

We use search language such as “gooning addiction” to answer the question people are asking, then state clearly when a term is not a diagnosis. We do not diagnose readers, define high desire as illness or treat distress from moral disapproval alone as a disorder.

Claims about injury, crisis and treatment are kept proportionate to the evidence.

Review and corrections

Pages show a review month and year. A review checks links, material health claims and the continued relevance of practical advice. The date is not a claim of clinician authorship.

Material errors should be corrected promptly and the affected page reviewed. This project does not currently publish a public correction inbox; no contact address is invented for appearance’s sake.

Independence and limits

Gooners.ca is educational and does not replace professional care. Directory links do not endorse every listed provider. No page should be expanded solely to capture a keyword when it cannot add distinct value.
